Sprouts & Rooted Kids

First Baptist Covington’s Family & Kids Ministry exists to glorify God by equipping parents to be the primary spiritual leaders of their home so that Christ may be known and treasured throughout the generations.

There are three aspects of children’s ministry at FBC - The Sprouts, Rooted Kids, and Family Ministries. The Sprouts ministry (babies - kindergarten) focuses on laying a firm foundation of faith for our children. The Rooted Kids ministry (1st - 5th grade) seeks to build on that foundation through serious study of God’s word while presenting His truth in fun and engaging ways. The Family Ministry facet of ministry is based on the idea that the Christian life is more than just Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.

For this reason, FBC’s Family Ministry desires to equip parents with resources they need to help them be the primary disciple makers of their children by living out their faith in the home. Or, as Deuteronomy 6 says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise” (Deut 6:5-7).
